This song is a "stretch" for holiness music to claim it but you will still hear a church mother every now and then break out into...."This Little Light of Mine." Something about the lyrics that makes you accountable to be a positive force in the world.
Maybe that was Gatorade's intention, to show the light shining when they teamed up with Cam Newton to create this commercial. For full disclosure I am a cheerleader for Gatorade (University of Florida Alum of course I am a Gatorade fan) and Cam Newton (at one point Cam was Gator and I live in his hometown of Atlanta)
Whether this song is a Negro spiritual that was never published or it is the original work of Harry Dixon Loes nobody can argue that the lyrics don't take you to a place that inspires you to be a better person.
